"There's just no accounting for happiness, or the way it turns up like a prodigal who comes back to the dust at your feet having squandered a fortune far away." (Jane Kenyon)

Eleanor's Poem

Eleanor jotted down this poem at Church in less than 5 minutes. I'm not kidding.

STARS

The stars up above
the owls hooting
the wolves howling
and bears with their cubs but the
stars up above--
are more than this.

Down in our beds
and saying, "tis,"
no, no
bears and their cubs
just slugs and their bugs
tonight.

Just this tonight.
