"There's just no accounting for happiness, or the way it turns up like a prodigal who comes back to the dust at your feet having squandered a fortune far away." (Jane Kenyon)

Leftovers

So, it's been a particularly harsh Monday, getting back to the grind after such a BIG week. We are left with many leftovers: memories of guests come and gone, exhaustion, piles of laundry and responsibility ignored, and even a pumpkin pie out in the garage. Somehow I don't have any photo documentation of last week's festivities--my brother and his family up from Manhattan Beach, little brother David and niece Layla, two birthdays, Kangaroo Zoo, Bean Museum, lots of bike rides, no snow, lights at Temple Square, Bolt matinee, etc.--but here's a picture of the perfect plate of leftovers. Hope yours was great too!
Herb Roasted Turkey with Quince Glaze
Giada's Parmesan Mashed Potatoes
Ina Garten's Homemade Gravy
Cornbread Stuffing with Apple-Cinnamon Sausage and Apricots
Martha's Cranberry Cherry Relish
Sauteed Brussel Sprouts and Purple Cabbage
Nana's Yams with Pineapple
Not pictured (bummer):
Nana's Orange Rolls
Dutch Apple Caramel Crunch Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Wendy's Dark Chocolate Pecan Pie
