Seriously, does this look like a Daddy who's pining away for a boy in his life? I mean really. Of his own accord, I found him reading the American Girl catalog happily with his three beauties. He likes it. He loves it. He loves being the only man in their lives. He loves tights and dresses and dancing in the kitchen and shouldering their many tender tears.
So, anyway, with that said, today is ultrasound day. Somehow it's become sex diagnostic, rather than the obviously more important, is the baby okay exam. Going into this, I wanted to respond out loud to all of those ridiculous people who keep telling us with emphatic sincerity, "You have to have a boy." We do? Really? Why are so many at the ready with condolences if it's a girl? We do not and would not feel incomplete or insufficient in any way if we never had a boy in our clan, and yet so many think so. We love our family of girls. Love it.
However, if I am carrying a boy, we would enthusiastically welcome him, and gently attempt to make him comfortable in all of this drama, dress-up, butterfly, ponytail home that is ours. So, baby, come as you are. We'll love you no matter what.
Can you seriously blame us for wanting another one of these?

Well said, my dear. I totally understand how you feel. /i had so many people say to me, "I know how badly you must want a little girl." That always caught me off guard because the thought of a girl honestly terrified me. I really, really love the way you say it here.
