"There's just no accounting for happiness, or the way it turns up like a prodigal who comes back to the dust at your feet having squandered a fortune far away." (Jane Kenyon)

Good Losses

I'm not a sentimental keeper of anything. I enjoy throwing away, getting rid of and crossing out anything that will make my life easier. Here's to simplifying!
#1 After five hours of sorting and folding and emotionally walking down 8-yrs of memory lane, we ended up with five large bags of girls clothes for Deseret Industries, 2 large boxes for pass-me-downs (who's having a girl?), and one box of clothes we just couldn't part with. Now there's room for the boy.
#2 Having finally overcome my skepticism and baking snobbery, I tried a new cake recipe that called for no bowl, no eggs and the most minimal of preparation. No way could it be any good, right? Well, it was fantastic, one of the best homemade chocolate cakes I've ever had, and definitely the easiest to make. A must try.

#3 Ada lost her first tooth. She lost it in such Ada fashion too. It was dangling there for at least a week, ready for the taking, but Ada was patient and let it come when it was good and ready. Well done..
