"There's just no accounting for happiness, or the way it turns up like a prodigal who comes back to the dust at your feet having squandered a fortune far away." (Jane Kenyon)
What do you do with a two-month, weepy-eyed, sweet butterscotch baby boy who shows up uninvited, wakes up every two hours in the middle of the night, starts the day at 4AM and says, "Whaaa, whaaa, whaaa" most of the time no matter what attempts you make to quiet and console. What do you do?
You throw him out, that's what you do.
Just kidding.
You let him stay, at least while he's napping, and hope he grows out of it soon, but until then, you pull up your boot straps, love him anyway, drink a lot of caffeine, and use him as an excuse for everything that's wrong in your life while you still can.

Actually, maybe don't drink the caffeine? I don't drink it, but was nursing a baby that age one Christmas and was at my wit's end until it finally occurred to me to stop going hog-wild on all the holiday chocolates. Within one digestion/nursing cycle she was fiiiiiiine.
(I'd probably hate unasked advice if I were you, and I'm sure I wouldn't be so lucky as to be right anyway, but I was shocked at the time because I didn't realize that could make the baby cry SOOO much.)
Whatever craziness you're in for, I hope it ends soon!! :)
i wish i could take him for a day for you. . .
wasn't eleanor like that?
I don't know what to do about the crying but Hazel had weepy eyes and I just soaked cotton pads in chamomile tea (warm to cool) and laid them on her eyes and it cleared up within a week. Hugs to you!!!
