In an attempt to embrace all that is good about this place in which we now live, we headed up to Sundance on Saturday and hiked up to the lovely Stewart Falls. I was so proud of us non-hikers, especially the little ones. What we thought was going to be an easy jaunt up the hill, ended up being a four mile and nearly four hour test of endurance in the drizzling under-belly of the mountains. Charlotte, bless her heart, kept saying, "No worries." We all needed the encouragement. Oh, you should've seen it though. We hiked in a wonderland of red and yellow; crisp leaves crunching under our shoes like potato chips; that cool, perfumed air; the music of those quaking aspen; the two-tiered waterfall at the end. A challenge, but worth it, probably a lot like living here.
"There's just no accounting for happiness, or the way it turns up like a prodigal who comes back to the dust at your feet having squandered a fortune far away." (Jane Kenyon)

What fun pics!
We were shut in all weekend, too.
May it not strike again to either of our fams!!
Great pictures Ann! That hike is one of my all time favorites.
I loved your pregnancy post, I made Duane read it today during his lunch break and he loved it as well. We are thinking of you in this oh so miserable time!
I love to hike to Stewart Falls. Hope you didn't get too wet. Sorry to hear about the flu again. We would love to go hiking with you next time.
Beautiful pictures, Ann :) It sounds like life is hectic (and even more since you have such rough pregnancies). The end result will be worth it... keep telling yourself that and you might just get through :)
