"There's just no accounting for happiness, or the way it turns up like a prodigal who comes back to the dust at your feet having squandered a fortune far away." (Jane Kenyon)

Badenweiler, Germany

This summer, we might, just might, get to go here:

Mark's trying to work this small town into his travel itinerary, nestled in the Black Forest (known for its well-preserved Roman baths, 11th century castle and Chekhov's place of death) on his way to a conference in Moscow. Cross you fingers....

I will cross my fingers until they cramp! How exciting :) My brother in law is still in Berlin doing his PhD. I wish we could go. He is applying to teach in Rome, so maybe we can go there someday. I am so excited for you, what a wonderful experience. Will the girls go with you?

That would be SO neat! I was hoping Myles could publish at a conference in NY for our tenth anniversary. It doesn't look like he'll be able to make that deadline. Now, we're crossing our fingers for Brazil. Hope it all works out for you guys!
