Life Cancelled

The show, that is. Word on the virtual streets this morning is that NBC is cancelling Life after its Season 2 finale last night. What?!!! The critics loved it, we loved it--what happened? We started watching it for Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers and BBC's Forsythe Saga), but got hooked on the story, clever writing and other characters, which was surprising because it is a cop show. Seriously, Charlie Cruz makes 24's Jack Bauer look pathetic. Really. Why are all our favorite shows cancelled? Ugh. Ann, it's just TV, it's just TV.... I know, but it made me so happy every Wednesday night. Shoot.
(Postscript: After writing this, I read a friend's blog and was brought to the ground with news that a little one is really, really sick. Perspective is a good thing.)

I agree. I didn't even know who Damian Lewis was until this show came on. I had just gotten HD service on my new flat screen and this was a visually stunning show as well as one with more substance than CSI Miami or any Law and Order. I hope that Jay Leno's new Variety Hour Fails and NBC has room to air this fascinating show.
